and Transgender Ministries of
the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota

Looking for A Church Which Will Welcome You?

The Episcopal Church strives to welcome all persons and make them feel like a member of the "family." When asked about the Episcopal Church's stand on gay and lesbian persons our Presiding Bishop, The Most Rev. Edmond Browning, stated categorically: "This church of ours is open to all. There will be no outcasts."

Although the Episcopal Church is not as yet of one mind with respect to how fully we accept and affirm GLBT persons, many Episcopal Churches in Minnesota endorse the Presiding Bishop's mandate and openly welcome and affirm gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons in the life and ministry of the congregation.  The congregations below have asked to be listed as Welcoming and Affirming Churches.  The list is arranged by city to help you locate a Welcoming and Affirming Church in the Twin Cities or in Greater Minnesota.

If you're looking for a place to worship where you are free to be yourself, we invite you to visit any of these Minnesota churches who have gone on record as spiritual homes which, "respect the dignity of every human being."  Your personal experience of welcome may vary–please let GLBT Ministries know if you were made to feel unwelcome at any of the churches listed below and we will discuss your experience with the clergyperson in charge of that congregation.

The Episcopal Church Welcomes You!

presence of Christ's Spirit.
