The mission of the GLBT Task Force is to facilitate the formation of a
social, cultural and educational center by and for lesbian, gay,
bisexual
and transgender youth and friends. The Task Force is committed to the
belief that central to empowering lesbian, gay , bisexual and
transgender
youth and reducing the risk of self destructive behaviors, is helping
these
youth find community and positive role models in order to break the
isolation that so many of them experience. Towards these ends, the Task
Force seeks to provide a safe environment for social, cultural and
educational experiences for these youth in an effort to foster community
and
self-empowerment. In the words of Audre Lorde,
(Okay, so we didn't say the background would be boring.)
