DIOCESAN COUNCIL ELECTION

Congratulations to the Rev. Noel Rich of Emmanuel, Alexandria, who was elected as our Region III Clergy Representative to Diocesan Council. He joins Lay Representative Sally Jo Sorensen of Trinity, Litchfield, and replaces retiring Clergy Representative, the Rev. Paul Baker. Thank you to Paul, for serving and for all the blessings he brings to our region. And thanks to Sally Jo for her continuing diocesan ministry.

THE BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

If you miss it at the Cathedral and it doesn't happen in your parish, bring your animal friend(s) to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis (informally transferred) at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 15, at Good Samaritan in Sauk Centre or at 11:30 am on Sunday, October 22, at Our Saviour's in Little Falls. Everyone is welcome: Lutheran dogs, Roman cats, Presbyterian hamsters, and pagan iguanas ("Gus"?) with heated travel arrangements.

REGION and DIOCESAN SURVEY

At our fall region meeting we reviewed the diocesan survey concerning which diocesan functions are most important to our parishes. In Region III, many of the diocesan services that we find most valuable have to do with preparing people for ministry and/or arranging for ministry: interim ministry, EFM, the clergy search process, preparation/support of LEVs & deacons, and total ministry.
