Grace Church, Royalton, held their final worship service, celebrating their history, on November 14. The church was filled with nearly forty people. The Rev. Canon Connie Claxton officiated for the bishop, the Rev. Priscilla Gray served as deacon, and the Rev. Pat Gillespie presided at the Eucharist. Parish members Jean Batzer and Donna Freitag told stories of Grace Church's mission and ministry, and Margaret Duevel served as organist. The altar was carried outside, and the building was secularized or deconsecrated. Representatives of neighboring parishes welcomed the Grace Church parishioners into their congregations. The congregation then continued a long-standing tradition of sociability, gathering at Dixie's Diner to continue the celebration.
Congratulations and thank you to Sally Jo Sorenson of Trinity, Litchfield, who will be our Region III representative to Diocesan Council.
