Sermon Following Story

All babies ARE special.

All babies can teach us something about love. Most people - just like cats and mice and bears - when they remember the baby will drop everything to care for the baby. Babies remind us that caring for others is more important than anything else in the world.

And when we remember one ordinary baby born long ago in Bethlehem it reminds us that in God's eyes each of us also is special – so special that God loved us enough to be born in this world just as we are.

Babies, like Jesus and Mouseling, can also teach us something about trust.

Mouseling trusted Cat's promises enough to invite her into the warm nest.

God loved the world enough to trust ordinary human beings to care for a helpless baby

Childlike trust in the promises of another can bring great blessing.

God has promised us life.
That's one Christmas gift we can trust.
