The Spirit of the Heartland council met on July 10,2001 at the good samaritan church in Sauk Centre.Present were the rev.Pat Gillespie, Fran Svardahl from Good Samaritan, Mary Ann Erdmann from St. Stephens, and Virginia Berguson from the Church of Our Saviour. The purpose of the Council is to approve any decisions of the Total Ministry Team for the Spirit of the Heartland.The budget for 2002 was explained. As grants are not available after three years,expenses will be shared by the three churches.This will be approximately $2000 each. A motion was made and carried that a checking account for the Spirit of the Heartland be opened to facilitate payment of expenses. This will be set up by Judy Rose,Financial Administrator. It was also moved and carried that Canon Missioner Sandi Holmberg be invited to be a member of the Council. The council will meet quarterly.
