The insert in this week's bulletin "Evengelistic Listening" was written by Katherine Jefferts Schori, the new presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. It was written for the latest issue of Episcopal Life, and I include it because it seemed so relevant to the kinds of things we have been discussing recently as a church. Enjoy!

Sing For Joy is a program of sacred choral music and thoughtful commentary. It prepares listeners for worship and reinforces their worship experience. Produced by St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, Sing For Joy bases each week's music on the scriptural lessons specified in the common lectionary. This three-year cycle of readings has become the basis for worship in the services that a majority of churchgoers in America attend. The musical performances eloquently "do the talking," while the host's concise comments illuminate the meaning of the texts. This program is only available over the internet in our area. For information on the program, go to www.singforjoy.org. For streaming broadcast times, go to jrabold.net/radio/2sin.shtml .
